Vinhais - 2

My wife Fátima, my son Jorge Miguel, my sister-in-law Isabel, my niece Ana, my she-dog Daisy and I, we were settled for the night in a bungalow of Biologic Park of Vinhais. In the middle of the night I awoke with the low noise of the breeze and my sleep vanished. Because the weather was fine I went to the veranda and looked at the starry sky. My God! The sky was very bright, very clear. I recall this brightness of the sky from Africa when I was a boy! In Portugal in my farm near the big city of Braga the glow of the city light prevented the observation of stars at night. So I was astounded. I know if the Earth and the Sun were out of the Milky Way we would see no stars. Nothing. At the night sky we see many stars because we are incorporated in the Milky Way. If not, we would see only blackness. We would see only the Moon, the Sun and, at night, the blackness. I know the centre of the Earth is melted because the high pressure of the many layers of the Earth do this to the centre of the Earth. The strata, the tectonic plates are so heavy that they do the melting of the nucleus of the Earth. And the same reason does the intense, violent, extreme brightness of the Sun and all the other stars! They are huge and heavy! I am not an astronomer and was told to me «nothing is created, everything can be changed» but I believe the stars are slowly increasing the mass, the stars are slowly growing and the pressure of the layers do this miracle. I still believe the stars explode when they are very big and create new smaller stars, and planets and comets. I am not an astronomer but I believe the Universe is increasing the mass because I need to be an optimist! In this topic what guides me, what orientates me it’s only the optimism. I repeat I am not an expert I am only an amateur.
