Kite

Kite is a little eagle and a voracious bird. Chief’s wife (my mother), had many hens fit for breed chicks. And so, the chief’s wife had many chicks. And in Africa many hen chicks means: fat kite chicks!! There always was a kite far high above the chief’s wife hens and chicks. At any moment the kite could dive and, in a Concorde aircraft speed, catch a hen chick!

One day the chief’s wife called in fright. The chief caught the first rifle he had at hand a rifle fit for elephants and buffalos and ran to the yard where my mother called and pointed her hand to the sky. A kite was there, in the sky, circling and watching the hen chicks of my mother. The chief aimed with the rifle and fired. What was seen it was the kite close its wings and fall how only a stone can fall at the ground! How it was possible one bullet pierce the kite far high in the sky?
